Improve user experiences and reliability with new uberAgent for VDI

IT organizations face ever-increasing demands from their business and users. Over the past several years, 53 percent of IT leaders have reported their environments growing even more complex. You invest a tremendous amount in solutions to secure and deliver enterprise apps, and you need visibility across all of it

A robust observability strategy is fundamental to delivering a successful enterprise IT deployment. Fundamentally, our goal is to enable you to detect and respond to issues before they happen, and provide data-driven insights to help you build a better platform today. Ahead of the game, not struggling to catch up to help desk tickets. That’s where Citrix observability enters the picture.

Earlier this year, we announced the expansion of the Citrix platform with the acquisition of uberAgent. We heard from many of you that you need holistic and deeper monitoring capabilities to keep pace with the complexity of your IT environments. uberAgent enhances Citrix’s ability to deliver a superior digital employee experience, and plays a key role in our observability strategy.

Improved user experiences and reliability

Our observability strategy is designed to deliver actionable data and insights, to dramatically reduce mean time to detect (MTTD), mean time to resolve (MTTR), and improve root cause analysis (RCA) for our customers. Improved observability directly results in improved user experience and reliability.

Whether you are using app and desktop virtualization, NetScaler, web and SaaS applications, or any other Citrix platform capability, uberAgent tracks reliability and performance along with deep security insight. We also want to ensure the deep insights you get from Citrix can integrate into the 3rd party data platforms you already use, like Splunk, and that’s where uberAgent delivers value.

Announcing uberAgent for VDI

To ensure that you get the most out of your Citrix solution, we are continuously innovating and investing in technologies to make your deployments a success. We are excited to introduce uberAgent for VDI to all Universal Hybrid Multi-Cloud, legacy Universal, and legacy DaaS subscriptions, with entitlements to deploy across Citrix VDI and DaaS workloads as well as Citrix connected endpoints. This change will enable more customers to gain deeper observability and insights across their Citrix environments.

The enterprise-wide entitlement for non-Citrix workloads, including all physical endpoints, will continue to be a Citrix Platform License benefit.

Alongside this change, we have been hard at work integrating our observability capabilities from Citrix Analytics for Performance and Security into Director, Monitor, and uberAgent. Citrix Analytics will no longer be a separate, standalone component of the Citrix platform – instead, your teams will find the functionality at their fingertips in consoles they are already using every day. Much of this work has already been completed and expected to be fully complete in mid-2025.

Our goal is to empower your teams with observability metrics and solutions you need, in the places administrators already spend their time. By moving metrics to the Director and Monitor consoles your administrators use every day, we are driving towards a unified observability platform for all apps delivered by Citrix (Windows, macOS, Linux, web, and SaaS). With uberAgent, we’re investing in integrations with platforms that you have already invested in – like Splunk and other SOC and SIEM providers, so you can get the clearest picture of your IT environment using the solutions you already pay for.
