Citrix Secure Mail has been our well-established mail client for many years since Citrix Endpoint Management (formerly XenMobile) was launched. It is an enterprise-ready mail client that has been trusted by you, our customers, thanks to its integration with MAM SDK (formerly MDX) DLP controls and microVPN. Today, I’m proud to announce that Secure Mail is now a true hybrid mail client.
What does that mean?
Secure Mail supports the below main three deployments of Microsoft Exchange Server:
- Exchange Server On-premises: This used to be the most common scenario 5–7 years ago when administrators were still trying to learn and understand the benefits of the cloud. Yet, some customers remain on-premises due to regulatory and compliance requirements, and Secure Mail is there to comply with their requirements. - Exchange Online: This is the most popular scenario today where administrators transition their on-premises Exchange Server to Exchange Online and enable modern authentication. For more information on configuring Secure Mail with modern authentication, go here.
- Microsoft Hybrid Modern Authentication: This is a unique scenario where customers keep their Exchange Server on-premises, yet administrators want to take advantage of modern authentication capabilities to add the extra layer of security.
