Looking back on our acquisition and transformation into Cloud Software Group, it’s clear Citrix has undergone significant changes. However, we’ve now firmly established ourselves as a company that delivers mission-critical enterprise software at scale, and that has provided the opportunity for the Citrix business unit to refocus on what’s most important: delivering high-performing applications and desktops from any cloud or on-premises data center. Better prioritizing what works best for our customers started with listening to your feedback and using that to inform our product strategy, so we could deliver the solutions that will make the most impact on your IT environment. We are the industry leader in this technology – if you need a reminder, visit our comparison page to see how Citrix stacks up against VMware, and learn more about our strategic partnership with Microsoft.
We started with recommitting to supporting hybrid work environments, flexible infrastructure and vendor choice, and long-term innovation in line with what you need. And we’ve already made progress toward our goals with the Citrix platform, which invests in the technologies you need and offers more deployment flexibility, which is unmatched by our competitors. See how we have prioritized important releases with you in mind below.
Committing to hybrid work environments
Our first priority at Citrix is DaaS and VDI, it’s what we do. We have renewed this commitment by refocusing on providing a Zero Trust, high-performance platform for the unified delivery of applications and desktops to any device. We also heard from you that for a lot of you, hybrid is the destination, so we’ve renewed our commitment to supporting you where you are, in the cloud, on-premises, or a hybrid of both.
We’re following through by refining our solutions with the best user experience for any application your business uses. Citrix offers a simple but powerful user experience that is powered by HDX and can support a wide range of use cases, including web, SaaS, Windows, and Linux applications. The user experience remains the same across all devices too, making it easier for your employees to find the resources they need. Your employee portal remains simple while you go through a digital transformation, with unified management across cloud, on-premises, and globally distributed sites, as well as integration into existing processes.
Building a secure hybrid work environment requires a lot of tools, including the tools to integrate the different clouds and on-premises data centers you might use. Citrix helps you bridge the gap between cloud and on-premises deployments without costing more or creating more complexity. Citrix also has context-aware security and dedicated support and management tools so your IT team has everything they need to secure your environment and resolve issues.
Our commitment to supporting your hybrid environment will pay off for you, too. Based on what we have seen, by going hybrid and putting your predictable workloads on premises and your more dynamic workloads in the cloud, such as seasonal bursts, you can save roughly 50 percent per year. The best part about hybrid cloud is that you can plan your on-premises resources to carry your everyday workloads and only burst to the cloud to handle peak workloads. This reduces waste of on-premises resources and reduces overall costs, while still giving you the capacity to burst to the cloud when needed.
Flexible infrastructure and vendor choice
Citrix offers easy ways to connect to the cloud and vendor-agnostic infrastructure so that you have the freedom to choose the solutions that best suit your business as you scale. While some solutions will lock you into their infrastructure, our future-looking strategy is designed to accommodate alternative solutions, like hybrid with Nutanix, and help you take advantage of the lowest-cost clouds or those with the best features.
Hybrid and multi-cloud are both possible with Citrix. You can have one cloud provider, or four. Citrix offers the ultimate cloud flexibility, so you can host workloads in Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud, or in all three. Having multiple clouds won’t make things more complicated for your employees either. When users enter their work email into the Citrix client, it automatically discovers the infrastructure and configures itself, giving them a unique view of desktops and applications available to them based on their role. This makes the user experience seamless, even if they are moving between internal and external networks or different devices.
Long-term Citrix innovation
While I’m pleased that our renewed focus has enabled us to execute on current customer needs, I’m most excited about what lies ahead. Citrix has a huge opportunity for long-term innovation for hybrid multi-cloud capabilities, elevated user experience on next-generation devices, Zero Trust app access, automation, artificial intelligence and more. We’re expanding technology across enterprise and partner ecosystems, and continuing to innovate with key alliance partners like Microsoft, Google, AWS, Oracle, ServiceNow, and Nutanix. Our vision and strategy is clear, and I look forward to sharing more about that in the near future.
Our ability to execute on that vision has never been stronger. We have the largest investment in end user computing (EUC) in the industry (and we’re still hiring!). We’ve released tons of major client and server updates in the last two quarters alone! These fast-paced releases show just how committed we are to building a better user experience and secure solution that outpaces our competitors. Ultimately, our acquisition as part of Cloud Software Group has helped Citrix refocus on delivering what you need, a unified way to manage EUC architecture.
