In June, we announced a preview of the Citrix Mobile Workspace Experience for Android Enterprise Work Profile mode. After incorporating feedback from customers, it’s now generally available starting with the 21.9.x release of Citrix Endpoint Management server and the 21.9 release of the Citrix Workspace app.
For a solution to succeed, you have to find the right balance between experience and security. The Citrix Mobile Workspace Experience achieves this by providing the end user with all the tools and applications they need to be productive, while giving admins the ability to implement security policies and actions that protect enterprise resources and data.
Experience
Here’s how we’ve improved the overall user experience with a single app solution driven by Citrix Workspace app.
- The Citrix Endpoint Management team has integrated Secure Hub capabilities into Citrix Workspace app. Now, with the simple click of a button, an end user can enroll their devices from within the Citrix Workspace app. Integration with Android Management API (AMAPI) allows you to seamlessly create a work profile and transition the Citrix Workspace app to the secure Work Profile container without ever needing to re-authenticate or change the store configuration.
- The same Citrix Workspace app becomes a single interface to access your virtual apps, web, and SaaS apps and perform critical or mundane tasks without logging in to critical apps. This is achieved by leveraging out-of-the-box microapp integrations or custom-built microapps.
- Web/SaaS apps can also be launched from within the context of the Citrix Workspace app. Admins can protect these apps further with access security and app protection policies.
Security
We’ve also enhanced security without adding unnecessary complications for IT admins or degrading the user experience.
- During enrollment, leveraging AMAPI, the Citrix Workspace app is moved to the secure Work Profile container, which helps keep it separated from any personal applications. Additionally, admins can push restriction policies from the Citrix Endpoint Management console to prevent data leakage and protect work resources.
- Integration with AMAPI enables Citrix Endpoint Management with Day 0 support for major OS releases and new Android Enterprise features.
- Third-party enterprise apps integrate with Citrix Endpoint Management MAM SDK, allowing these apps to use a secure mVPN tunnel to access internal resources. The Citrix Workspace App has the MAM SDK APIs integrated and facilitates the secure access to internal resources.
- Apart from restriction policies, Citrix Endpoint Management also provides other device protection policies like passcode protection, keyguard restrictions, always-on VPN, app permission, and even managed app configurations.
- Admins can leverage the Managed App configurations to set up Samsung DeX policies via the Knox Service Plugin (KSP). Because Citrix Workspace app is already optimized for DeX, admins can now extend it to a larger display, turning the mobile device into a thin client. Web/SaaS or even virtual desktops can be launched from the Citrix Workspace app and extended to a larger display leveraging Samsung DeX
Check out this video, which details these capabilities and shows how you can leverage the Citrix Mobile Workspace Experience to get work done swiftly and securely, all from a single app!
