Our latest joint offerings establish Citrix® Workspace as a preferred digital workspace platform for Microsoft customers, and Microsoft Azure as a preferred public cloud for companies using Citrix solutions to enable people to work anywhere across devices.
While both our companies maintain our long-standing policies of supporting customer choice, for those customers moving workloads to Azure, this agreement will simplify that move while enhancing agility and security.
One of the benefits of this partnership is a simplified approach to using Citrix to extend the capabilities of Azure Virtual Desktop (formerly Windows Virtual Desktop) through the Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops service and through Citrix Managed Desktops. With Citrix, customers can deliver Azure Virtual Desktop as part of a unified environment, fully integrated with their Citrix cloud subscription alongside on-prem, mobile, multi-cloud, and SaaS apps. With robust Citrix management tools, administrators can take advantage of Azure Virtual Desktop including the multi-session Windows 10 capabilities, extended support for desktop operating systems, and optimizations for Office 365 Pro Plus, while providing the best end-user experience through Citrix HDX optimizations.
With this expanded partnership, these joint offerings will be sold through both our direct sales forces via the Azure Marketplace and a robust community of channel partners. As additional joint offerings are made available, our customers will be able to buy solutions from both Citrix and Microsoft in a single transaction that accelerates the move to the cloud and significantly reduces customer time to value.
