Citrix is committed to providing the highest standard of customer service across all its digital workspace solutions in the cloud, on-premises, and anywhere in between. One of the key elements of today’s subscription-based economy is the emphasis and focus on strengthening the relationship between the software provider and you, our customers.
Citrix offers all its cloud services in a subscription model — to simplify procurement, ease deployment, accelerate adoption, and strengthen customer relationships. This ensures that you are getting the most value from our solutions. However, as IT organizations pair on-premises and cloud services together, Citrix recognizes that the economic preference for subscription services is not purely restricted to cloud services. Our customers are looking for many of the same vendor and provider subscription benefits in our Citrix Workspace on-premises solutions.
Today, Citrix is proud to announce that we are providing all of the on-premises digital workspace solutions you love in a subscription model. The technology industry made a major shift from a traditional perpetual license model into a subscription-based model, and Citrix is excited to offer the same subscription model benefits in our on-premises solutions.
The technology world moves fast and changes rapidly. To drive usage, businesses need to adapt their technology solutions as their businesses change. Subscription-based solutions deliver the following benefits to customers:
- Lower Upfront Cost of Entry: Transitioning users into subscribers — rather than forcing them to be owners of our technology solutions — gives you the flexibility to expand your existing Citrix deployments to meet growing demand without a long-term commitment or large upfront cost. As a subscriber, you are making a short-term investment in our solutions to address a pressing business challenge, and Citrix is making the commitment to exceed your expectations to retain you as a future subscriber.
- Financial Flexibility: On-premises subscription can provide customers with financial flexibility as licenses may qualify for either operating (OpEx) or capital (CapEx) budgets based on the customer’s accounting policies and procedures.
- Simplified Billing: Subscriptions offer businesses a single invoice that is all encompassing — including software license costs, support services, training resources, and future solution enhancements. Customers then have the option to make payments on a regular schedule that aligns with their organizations’ accounting practices.
- Predictable Costs: In a perpetual licensing model, there is a larger upfront payment for entry. After the perpetual license is “owned,” there is an on-going maintenance cost for enhancements, training and support. This variation in cost structure can be cumbersome to manage and it makes establishing a budget problematic as the business grows. With subscriptions, the upfront cost can be smaller and there is one simple, predictable cost that remains relatively consistent year after year.
While the trend for subscription-based technology solutions accelerated with cloud services, Citrix recognizes that not every customer is ready to make the move to cloud services. This is why Citrix is introducing its on-premises digital workspace solutions in a subscription licensing model to meet our customers’ needs. Now, as of June 8, 2020, all on-premises Citrix solutions are offered in a subscription model giving you, our customer, choice of deployment location, and purchasing option.
