We are on the verge of a whole new Citrix.
The forthcoming Citrix Workspace intelligence isn’t just a new set of features; it’s a new way of thinking about how people will interact with their applications. Citrix gives employees a window into their applications. Citrix Workspace makes it possible to access all your apps and files more easily. It makes accessing your apps more secure. It makes accessing your apps possible on any device, anywhere, anytime. But it’s still the same app; it didn’t change because you were using Citrix technology. But that’s all about to change!
Citrix has long offered various APIs and scripting kits for our products. In fact, you can find many of them housed centrally at our developer front door. These have allowed parts of our portfolio to be automated in a variety of ways, making IT administrators’ lives easier. Until now, though, we’ve aimed most of these kits at system administrators, not software developers.
With our growing focus on changing the way people work, we’re rethinking everything. Micro apps offer a new way to allow software developers to restructure applications on the fly. They allow you to restructure them for easier use by your employees. They allow you refactor them to be more mobile device-friendly. They allow you to make them more intuitive and friendlier. While you still have all the classic functionality you’ve long enjoyed from Citrix, this push has caused us to rethink everything about how you code to the Workspace. APIs and SDKs aren’t just for automation; they can be used for building a whole new class of applications!
We’re going API-first!
Expect to see more and more from Citrix on this front. As a first step, we’ve just deployed our new developer portal, which is optimized for modern API development. Soon, we’ll be shipping a new set of developer tools optimized for the creation of micro apps for Citrix Workspace. This is where it gets really exciting and where you have a chance to get in on the ground floor!
Get Ready for Citrix Converge
Want to be the first kid on the block to get access to these new SDKs? Want to be one of the first people on the planet to build a new micro app? We have the chance for you. On October 2 and 3 in Santa Clara, California, we’re hosting the first-ever Citrix Converge conference. It’s the first developers conference focused on the future of work, and it’s free to qualified participants.
Who’s qualified? We’re looking for three types of developers: independent software vendors (ISVs), systems integrators (SIs), and people who help build applications for their companies (let’s call these corporate developers). What else do you need? Basic familiarity with REST APIs and a sense of adventure!
Want to help redefine the future of work? Want to gain some new skills? Want to meet the developers behind the new Citrix Workspace intelligence? Want to meet a bunch of other like-minded developers? Want to always be able to say you were at the first Citrix Converge conference?
Here’s your chance!
Register your interest today and take the first step to securing your slot at the conference. Spots are limited and by invitation only.
I look forward to meeting you there and converging on a better way to work!
