A simpler way to manage Android Enterprise devices via OEMConfig

We’re just a few weeks into summer, but the Citrix Endpoint Management (CEM) product team has already introduced an influx of new features and capabilities for Android Enterprise. One of the hot new features is OEMConfig.

OEMConfig enables OEMs to build and EMM to support OEM-specific policies in a standardized way as defined by the AppConfig community. These OEMs APIs are available via the CEM console out of the box, and OEM updates are available instantly with the OEMConfig app on Google Play.

Here are some of the benefits of OEMConfig:

Samsung is one of the OEMs supported by CEM. Citrix and Samsung have a strong, multi-year partnership and have collaborated to support Samsung SAFE, KNOX APIs on the CEM console. In addition to enabling Citrix Workspace on Samsung DeX, our collaboration has extended to support Samsung Knox Service Plugin (KSP).

KSP is Samsung’s OEMConfig app that helps admins deploy existing and new Knox features. For more information, check out the Knox Service Plugin Admin Guide. CEM. fully supports KSP on the new Samsung Galaxy Note 10 smartphone.

KSP gives our joint customers access to the latest Knox features immediately by plugging the KSP app into the Citrix UEM. Customers can benefit from features like the new DeX management controls along with Citrix Workspace, streamlining the user experience while ensuring compliance with IT policies. The features are available out of the box with the Samsung Galaxy Note 10, without any product updates, and are accessible via the Citrix UEM console.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 includes the new Knox 3.4 capabilities. Customers will also be able to access the new Knox 3.4 features from the Citrix UEM console on their Samsung Galaxy Note 10 device, once the device is enrolled in Citrix UEM. Citrix Workspace, DeX, and Citrix UEM combine to offer a seamless mobile experience for end users and enable customers to automate certain end user workflows such as automatically launching the Citrix Workspace app when the device is plugged into a HDMI display; customize the look and feel through features like custom wall paper and loading logo and app and URL shortcuts; and enforce a new set of controls while in DeX mode like screen timeout and disable apps.

So how do you configure OEMConfig via Samsung KSP on the CEM console? It’s really simple. Check out this demo:
