January 2021 Update: Learn how to achieve more with Citrix and Azure Virtual Desktop.
At Ignite | The Tour Amsterdam, Citrix joined Microsoft as it unveiled the next generation of app and desktop virtualization in Azure. We are excited to extend Azure Virtual Desktop (formerly Windows Virtual Desktop) capabilities through Citrix Workspace services and offer administrators hybrid cloud flexibility in their journey to Azure.
There has been overwhelming interest from Citrix and Microsoft experts eager to see the integration in action and learn more about how Citrix can help you achieve your IT cloud goals.
Well, we have good news!
You can now download the Citrix and Windows Azure Desktop Public Preview Guide for step-by-step instructions on configuring Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops service with the new multi-session Windows 10 entitlement of Windows Azure Desktop Public Preview.
In this guide, you’ll learn how to set-up your Azure subscription with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops service to manage, monitor and deploy virtual apps and desktops hosted on the new multi-session Windows 10 experience of Windows Azure Desktop. The guide makes it easy to bring a Citrix high-definition user experience to Windows Azure Desktop virtual app or desktop.
This is just the beginning, too.
As Citrix and Microsoft continue to integrate our solutions, we’ll update the guide with detailed information on configuration guidance and recommendations for Windows 7 Extended Security Updates, as well as the new FSLogix capabilities.
Citrix is actively working with Microsoft to ensure Day 1 support for Windows Azure Desktop with our Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops service. The preview guide is a key milestone in our Citrix vision for extending the capabilities of Windows Azure Desktop, including advanced management, monitoring, provisioning, and user-experience improvements.
Our integration with Windows Azure Desktop is exclusively available through Citrix Workspace services, where you can manage all your Citrix virtual app and desktop workloads — on-premises or cloud-hosted — from a single location.
If you are new to Citrix or are an existing on-premises Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops service customer, the first step in this journey is to sign up for a Citrix Cloud account and request a trial of the Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops service. After you have access to the cloud service, you are ready to integrate Windows Azure Desktop workloads.
We’d love to hear your feedback in our Windows Azure Desktop discussion forums.
