Both Citrix and HPE have a long history of delivering proven, innovative solutions to solve the challenges of enterprise IT. In fact, the two companies have been collaborating for over 20 years. Every day, thousands of organizations across the world in numerous industries depend upon Citrix and HPE to do business and stay ahead of the curve. Based on the latest Citrix telemetry reporting in anonymous stats to us, there are over 180K server and desktop VDA workloads from XenApp and XenDesktop environments running on HPE hardware and more than 21,500 XenServer hosts running on HPE hardware.
At HPE Discover 2018 in Las Vegas, from June 19-21, the power and flexibility of the modern Citrix Workspace powered by HPE hybrid cloud will be on full display. Here are some of the latest updates around our joint offerings that we’ll showcase at the event.
Citrix Workspace Appliance Update
At Citrix Synergy 2018 in May, HPE announced SimpliVity Workspaces for Citrix, a hybrid cloud solution leveraging the robust performance of the SimpliVity HCI and Citrix Cloud Services. It starts with HPE SimpliVity — an award-winning, flexible, hyperconverged platform that features all-flash storage and streamlined management to maximize agility. Add to that the built-in integration with Citrix Cloud as part of the Citrix HCI Workspace Appliance Program, which allows customers to quickly and easily build out a virtual app and desktop delivery platform. The result is a winning combination for hybrid cloud that can tackle the demands of IT in the enterprise. See the demo from Synergy below, and the blog post from the HPE SimpliVity product manager, as well.

We are excited that this solution will be available in multi-hypervisor platforms starting in Q3 2018. See the section below for details on learning about this solution during the planned session at HPE Discover.
HPE Edgeline and Moonshot
What is “the edge” in terms of IT? It’s the place where data is generated and where work gets done: the factory floor, a university campus, a hospital, or a call center, to name just a few. There are different types of “edges” and an increasing demand to handle compute work at this key location. HPE describes The Intelligent Edge: What it is, what it’s not, and why it’s useful. They offer Edgeline solutions that allow customers to collect, manage, and analyze data at the edge for real-time operations, reduced bandwidth consumption and lower costs.
HPE Edgeline edge-to-cloud solutions now enable customers to run Citrix XenApp and Citrix Cloud solutions on EL1000 and EL4000 systems. Sridhar Mullapudi, Vice President of Product Management at Citrix said:
We see tremendous demand to extend the value of Citrix Cloud to securely manage digital workspaces from the edge across a multi-cloud environment. HPE Edgeline, combined with the HPE Edgeline edge-to-cloud solution, offers choice and flexibility for our customers.
There’s also HPE Moonshot — the purpose-built, modular, software-defined server platform offering bare-metal performance with optimized efficiency. Watch the overview video from Synergy below.
