Let’s start at the macro-level.
Something jumps out as I view the Magic Quadrant in its entirety. Enterprise IT organizations building workspace solution offerings put a premium on reducing the number of vendors required to deliver the full stack of technology that includes EMM, Virtualized Apps/Desktops, Enterprise File Sync/Share and network access.
Taking customer preference for complete solutions one step further, EMM on its own has multiple layers of technology. MDM, MAM, EFFS, productivity apps and mobile gateway are all required to deliver the full stack of mobile technologies. That’s great news considering that 99% of the Fortune 1000 already use Citrix today.
Worx apps suite and ShareFile. Citrix was the first EMM vendor to deliver the most comprehensive suite of homegrown, containerized productivity apps. As a result, Worx apps continues to be the most mature and feature-rich suite of apps available from an EMM vendor today.
XenMobile is building on our app leadership with new innovations in the area of end-user experience and containerized productivity apps. The newest offering, Secure Forms, is the first platform to completely empower non-technical users and line of business workers to build and deploy their own mobile apps and workflows. As I’m sure you can imagine, IT loves this just as much as the users, themselves!
XenMobile is a perfect fit for companies that already have an investment in Citrix and need to deliver any app—virtual, SaaS, web, mobile—to mobile devices. I think it was Aristotle who said, “The whole is greater than the sum of the parts.” And that’s certainly the case with XenMobile. As I mentioned earlier, enterprise customers see the benefit of complete solutions. Of course it’s simpler to buy from one vendor, but it’s the workflow integrations between the core Citrix products that benefit our customers most.
There are huge benefits in selecting XenMobile, including a unified app store that delivers any app to the mobile device, ShareFile integration, MAM security advantages associated with NetScaler—this list goes on and on.
Customized user experience with user-side policy controls including DLP. Included in XenMobile Enterprise Edition, ShareFile provides deep, granular control of user data and content. ShareFile provides full accounting of documents including delivery receipts and access expiration dates.
Moving forward in 2016, Citrix XenMobile is strategically focused for development in a few key areas.
How can Citrix and XenMobile make virtualized apps and desktops more “touch friendly” on mobile devices?
Citrix XenMobile can deliver virtualized apps and desktops to mobile devices. More importantly, Citrix has proven to be a pioneer in the effort to improve virtual experiences on mobile devices with the patented Citrix X1 Mouse. The X1 Mouse is the only product of its kind that allows mobile users the ability to use a mouse in conjunction with their mobile device.
How can Citrix provide highly available and scalable SaaS infrastructure for EMM?
XenMobile Cloud infrastructure is rock solid with 99.9% uptime hosting thousands of customers across the world – many using our full stack of apps and not just MDM. In addition, we have recently introduced a new XenMobile Cloud dashboard for the Citrix Support Organization. This new tool gives support teams a visual dashboard that allows them to easily identify and troubleshoot customer configuration and infrastructure issues.
The Citrix mobile gateway, NetScaler, which is part of our XenMobile Cloud infrastructure and a Gartner Magic Quadrant Leader for Application Delivery Controllers, is known for its scalability and also the ability to terminate SSL sessions.
How will our new CEO positively impact the XenMobile business?
While change can be formidable for many companies, it is necessary to move organizations in the right direction. Our focus on our core products and delivering integrated solutions will benefit XenMobile customers. Kirill Tatarinov, Citrix new President and CEO, has been clear when identifying XenMobile as pillar of Citrix core product technology, which includes XenApp, XenDesktop, NetScaler and ShareFile. This core group of products is available as a bundled solution today with Citrix Workspace Suite.
As an example, at Citrix Synergy, we announced our upcoming efforts to deliver Smart Access, which delivers a security integration between XenMobile and Citrix Receiver to ensure device compliance before the delivery of Citrix HDX virtualized apps and desktops.
