Hi there, I’m Ron and as a HDX-3D Pro SME here in Germany, I’m involved in a lot of presentations, technology demos and PoCs when it comes to graphical intense applications.
It’s a long long time since my last blog, but I’d like to share some info what software/applications can be used to demonstrate HDX-3D Pro and what nice little tools are available to monitor the servers and graphics cards.
But lets start with a short introduction what HDX-3D Pro is about if you’ve not already followed Mayunk’s or Rachel’s incredible blogs.
Citrix HDX 3D Pro and XenDesktop is a great combination for high quality user experience and graphics for any application and is suitable for even the most demanding of workloads under the most extreme of conditions (outer space, high latency) on the widest range of mobile devices and clients. As such, internally we test and benchmark the behaviour of these workloads carefully with hundreds of applications. We also get a lot of requests for demos!
This is a non-exhaustive list compiled by a couple of members of the HDX team, SEs and Consultants of some of the applications we’ve experienced. These are a selection of the applications we have benchmarked or demo’d features such as software GPU, GPU sharing for XenApp, GPU pass-through and the vGPU NVIDIA GRID technologies with as well as the underlying HDX technologies such as ICA and our supercodecs.
THE BIG LIST 🙂 Demos marked with * were the submitters personal favourites, because they are easy to demonstrate or useful in general. It maybe necessary to create accounts or register to download various of the tools and demos collected here. 3D Model Download / Free CAD Models ( free registration/ login required)

Last but not least a great Source for all graphics related tools and stuff –> Guru3D.com All third-party tools are not officially endorsed by Citrix and should be used at the user’s discretion. More info HDX and XenDesktop and XenApp offer a range of technologies offering rich graphics support for Apps or Desktops, including many options for GPU acceleration on a variety of platforms including physical servers, Hypervisors including Citrix XenServer, Microsoft Hyper-V and VMWare vSphere, as well as platforms such as AWS and CloudPlatform. For those looking to benchmark graphical applications there is some advice on our other blogs about factors to consider and tools you can use:

Please do comment on the blog with other applications we could add to this list and if you have used any of the applications listed it would be great to hear your experiences ! You should now have some info on all kind of diffenrent demo apps, like medical imaging, automotive, construction , Game Development / Content Creation & Animation and CUDA/Raytracing or RealTime Visualization etc Here are some sample pictures what you can expect…
Hope you find some of the apps and tools interesting. Have fun experimenting with them and please feel free to give feedback in the comments section. Ron.
