Professional Services Council Partners with Industry Leaders for Second Annual Power IT Down Day
Industry Association Joins Push for Responsible Energy Consumption in Government
BETHESDA, Md. » 8/17/2009 » Citrix Systems, Inc. announced today that the Professional Services Council (PSC) will join Citrix, HP, Intel and Microsoft to encourage government and industry to be responsible with energy consumption on the second annual Power IT Down Day, scheduled for August 27 of this year. PSC is the first non-profit to work with these industry leaders in challenging those who serve government to turn off computers, monitors, printers and electronic devices at the end of the business day on Aug. 27.
The national trade association of the government professional and technical services industry, PSCs membership includes more than 330 small, medium and large businesses that provide federal agencies with services of all kinds.
Green IT and responsible energy usage are essential to both the environment and to governments bottom line, said Stan Z. Soloway, president and chief executive officer of the Professional Services Council. Were excited to join the Power IT Down Day team and promote this opportunity to make a difference in industry, government and the world.
