Geek Speak Live! Brings Tech Experts Together at the Ultimate Un-Conference
Participants Take Control of the Conversation at Citrix Synergy 2009

Geek Speak Live! (GSL!) is the ultimate un-conference where tech experts, industry analysts and bloggers take the reins, driving unfiltered real-world debates on todays hottest technology topics from desktop virtualization to cloud computing. Synergy 2009 the only conference where virtualization, networking and application delivery meet will take place May 4 to 7 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Synergy combines several events in one GSL!, two completely independent industry events Virtualization Congress and Network World Live! and the Citrix iForum Global User Conference.
By breaking away from the traditional PowerPoint sessions found at most conferences, GSL! offers a forum for innovative discussions and Q&A sessions led by industry experts and thought leaders, both from the wider virtualization, networking and application delivery infrastructure communities and from Citrix. Participants have the opportunity to vote on topics and speakers for GSL! before heading to Synergy by visiting the GSL! forum.
Due to overwhelming demand on the heels of Geek Speak Live! 2008, the event has been expanded into four segments, offering multiple opportunities to get involved in these highly technical discussions:
- Geek Speak Track: Open, unfiltered discussion on a variety of technical topics led by Citrix Technology Professionals (CTPs) and other respected industry thought leaders. These sessions will be held May 5 and 6 alongside the normal breakout sessions.
- Geek Speak Tonight!: A combination of CTP and CTO led discussions and debates on pre-decided topics, and open mike sessions where audience members can lead the discussion. Geek Speak Tonight! starts at 5:30 p.m. PT on Tuesday, May 5, and goes until the talking stops.
- Geek Speakeasy: Geek Speak Live! comes to the Synergy Expo Hall with a combination of a relaxed lounge format for discussions with the CTPs, and classrooms for bring your own laptop sessions with technical experts from Citrix and the wider community. These sessions will be held May 4 to 6.
- Geek Speak Happy Hour: A series of open, unfiltered discussions led by respected industry thought leaders. These thought-provoking sessions will kick off Synergy, giving you a chance to start off the conference with a breath of fresh, unfiltered air. This event will be held at 4:30 p.m. PT on Monday, May 4.
For those who missed Geek Speak Live! 2008 or who want to get an early start with this years conversation, Citrix is offering a Geek Speak Virtual! Live Webcast titled Project: Virtual Reality Check. The Webcast will feature an unfiltered discussion between two renowned CTPs Ruben Spruijt, solutions architect at PQR and Jeroen van de Kamp, CTO at Log•in Consultants. They will discuss Project Virtual Reality Check (VRC) a joint research venture on optimal configuration for various hypervisors. The project arose from the growing interest in virtualizing and scaling Terminal Server and Virtual Desktop (VDI) workloads. The live Webcast will be held on Thursday, March 26 at 1:00 p.m. ET/10:00 a.m. PT and registration is currently open.
