Government agencies are looking to cut costs, reduce energy consumption and boost productivity. According to Government Computer News, server virtualization is “one proven method that can actually optimize Data Center operations.”

9/1/2008 » Government Computer News » David Smith of the Citrix Federal team was heavily quoted in a Tech Watch special report on datacenter virtualization. According to one of the articles, “Fewer Really Is Better,” server virtualization is especially critical for business continuity, as well as for day-to-day productivity and cost benefits. After reducing server sprawl, virtualization can streamline administration of the datacenter. It also enhances agility. Smith was quoted as saying, “I would love to be able to run any workload on any piece of equipment in my Data Center. That gives me the flexibility in case a server fails or I need additional capacity or something happens, so I can move workloads around in my Data Center.”
